Reminders for all year groups - Week: Mon 20th - Fri 24th April

1st Year - Starting on Monday we are going to start a new project.  I will collect your still life pieces on  Monday too, they look great, well done!





2nd Year - Everyone should be continuing to work on their FINAL BOOKCRAFT piece which is due in on Thursday 30th April.  I do not want to see anyone coming to class next week without their sketchpads or homework!!!!






3rd Year - The final DEADLINE for the Junior Cert. Art project (75%) is next Wed. As you know, your two drawing exams take place next Wed.
Still life drawing exam - 9.30 - 10.30
Life Sketching (portrait) - 11.00 - 12.30

• It is extremely important that everyone arrives to the art room at 9.00 (please pop into tutor class quickly to let them know you are going to the art room to set up your desk for the art exam ) Everyone needs to also know which category (A or B) they chose their still life object from as this info, needs to be written at the top of your drawing page.

• This Friday we will use that class to stick on the labels to all of the work and organize them into the GREY envelopes (these have still not arrived to the school yet) so it is VITAL that everyone has all of the work I spoke about this week with you on Friday, this includes 3D work!

• After the two drawing exams all the work will be placed into the GREY envelopes and sealed and that will be your Junior Cert. Art exams over!!!!!

5th Year -The deadline for the RESEARCH SHEET is Tues 28th April.  Remember as the art exams are taking place Tues & Wed 29th next week we will not be in the art room!

 The deadline for your Developement sheet & Final poster is Monday 11th of May.  You will have the following classes to complete this work - (which totals 5hours which is all you will have next year for your CRAFTWORK exam, it is very important that you's get used to only have the 5hours to complete the work).  This work will be created in class only.


Tues 28th April - single class (30min)
Wed. 29th April - double class (1hr)
Friday 1st May - single class (30min)
Mon. 4th May - single class (30min)
Tues 5th May - single class (30min)
Wed 6th May - double class (1hr)
Friday 8th May - single class (30min)
Monday 11th May - single class (30min) TODAY IS THE DEADLINE!!!!

This project will count for a % of your summer exam.






6th Year  - As you know your ART PRACTICAL EXAMS take place next week
CRAFTWORK EXAM - Tues 28th April - 10.00- 12.00 then 1.30 - 4.00.  It is very important that you have the reserach sheet finished and with you on the day as well as any background sheets or card you want to use in the exam, you must show the superintendent any fabrics, materials and extra card you are going to use in the exam.  A lot of work to be done but remember you will only have to do this once so do it right!!!!

Your DRAWING EXAMS take place then on Tues 5th May
Still life exam  - 10.00 - 12.00
Life sketching - 2.30 - 3.30 (models Rachel Mc Gloin & Aoife )
