Jigsaw art competition

Jigsaw Donegal will be running an art competition specifically for 5th year (pre-leaving certificate) art students and those attending Youthreach. The competition will open on Monday 2nd February and run until Thursday 12th March at 5pm.

The idea of the competition is to promote the message of positive mental health through art and that the service itself will then display three of the pieces within the building for one year. All other pieces will be returned to the school following the exhibition. The theme is yet to be confirmed.

The art pieces will be judged by local artist/s to select the three pieces and the final three will then be placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd through an online voting poll. Pieces will also be displayed on our Jigsaw Donegal Facebook page.  Prizes for these positions have yet to be confirmed but I will have all information included in the pack that I send out to the school. One student from each school will also receive a certificate of merit in a separate judgement of the art pieces.

They will  posting out all the relevant information to the school ahead of Monday 2nd February including entry forms, the terms and conditions of the competition, posters and the theme.

All pieces submitted will also be displayed in the Regional Cultural Centre and prizes presented on opening night. Again more details to follow around this.
