Please have a look at the sketchbook pages below where the artists have investigated still life objects using a range of mediums such a pen, colour, texture etc.... This might poor inspirational for creating ideas regarding size, layout, styles etc for the PART A of the sketchbook which is Still Life that you are currently working on.
Here you can see the artist has done some rough sketches of his chosen still life object 'Apples' and sketched out some ideas for layout for his still life piece (this would be the type of thing you would do in Dev. sheet 2 but you can also add in a few photos to this page too & papers glued down to sheet to draw on top of)
Here are some very nice detailed pen and pencil sketches of a range of still life objects where the artist has added in little notes explaining his choice of object and what he has done....
I love this sheet for its layout and colour pops throughout where the artist investigates sea life, shells, seaweed etc in a range of mediums such as pen, paints, watercolour pencil and added in some little notes about why he did a drawing a certain way etc....
Here you have a simple slightly crushed coke can... the artist shows the can drawn on the left firstly in pencil (nice detail) but the exact same can is sketched beside it to show how he changed it by added colour.... this is a good idea as it shows DEVELOPMENT.....
More nice detailed drawings and sketches (using ink, pencil and chalks) with notes explaining investigation....
I like this experimental idea where the artist has glued on some card to his/her sketch pad, added pops of colour with yellow and white paint to the card...then once dry sketched in the object which is scissors using pencils and black pen....
Here we see some close ups in colour and black and white of the object.... I also like how the artist shows us the object from different angles and close ups..... this shows you are experimenting and developing your work...
Again, some nice detailed pencil sketch close up's of a key... I like how the artist shows us the close ups from a range of angles....
Experimenting with pencils and also paints and colour pencil.... Good idea to try out a range of materials rather than sticking to just the usual's which are pencil, pen and colouring pencil.....
A good sketchbook sheet where the artist talks about their plans and ideas for their still life layout. I would add some colour to this sheet too but. It makes it very easy for the examiner to understand what you want to do, what colours you chose and why etc if you have clearly labelled each part and written some notes on the sheet beside your sketch.... This would be good idea for Dev sheet 2.
A nice idea for experimenting....
