‘Magh Éne’ is derived from the old Irish for ‘welcome’ and ‘level land’ and it refers to the plain which stretches from the mountains to the Atlantic upon which Bundoran and the college is sited i.e. plain of hospitality. This is reflected in the college’s ‘open door’ approach taken to our parents as well as our wider community.
Magh Éne College was established in 1992 with 36 students continuing the tradition of second level educational provision established by the Sisters of Louis in the town. The college is situated on a fourteen hectare site in a recently built state of the art school building catering for the needs of families in the south Donegal, north Leitrim & north Sligo areas. Today the College has over 350 students and 30 staff members. The college is very proud of the excellent educational provision offered to students which is reflected in the college’s Mission and Vision Statements.
