IMPORTANT REMINDERS.............
Well done to my 3rd and 6th year students who sat their mock art exams last week - the hard work is paying off. Anyone who is disappointed with their result, there is still time to put in the hard work. Junior Cert's: I spoke to a number of you this week to remind you of the importance of completing project work on time - remember this project is worth 75% of your art examination and you MUST meet each deadline set to hand work in. Anyone who is behind with the work (ie; has still not handed in their finished 3D piece I need it on Monday) Letters will be sent home to the parents of any student who is very far behind with the project at this stage in the year.
It is important that you keep in mind that ALL project work needs to be handed in on April 21st and then we will be putting the work into the grey envelopes, labelling work etc.
For the mock exams I asked that everyone had in the following work to me for marking:
- Prep sheet
- Final piece
- Artist - Support studies
- 3D prep. sheet
- 3D finished final piece
EVERYONE MUST NOW BE STARTED CREATING THEIR BOOKCRAFT PREP SHEET - THIS IS DUE IN ON TUESDAY 15TH MARCH - WHICH GIVES YOU TWO AND A HALF WEEKS FROM THE DATE YOU HAD TO HAND IN THE REST OF THE PROJECT WORK FOR THE MOCKS - DO NOT HAND WORK IN LATE.
LEAVING CERT'S & JUNIOR CERT's IMPORANT REMINDER:
The Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate Art practical examination papers will be handed out to all art candidates and put up on our website www.examinations.ie on Tuesday 19th April 2016.
LEAVING CERTS:
this is when you start your research sheet & start choosing your passage for the still life exam as well as practising the 15 & 30min poses. (Alison will be in as often as we can get her to model for you). Your exam date for the craftwork exam, still life & life sketching exams have yet to be decided but you should know that they will take place some dates between 1st May - 13th May - As soon as dates for your exams are finalised I will let you know.
This means that after the Easter break (back to school Monday 4th April) you will only have a few weeks until your official art practical exams. I advise you practise your life drawing as much as possible during the break as well as revise art history notes - VERY important that art history is regularly revised as it is 150 marks.
JUNIOR CERTS:
Your two drawing exams take place on a date yet to be decided between May 1st - May 13th .... ALL project work must be completed and handed into me, labelled & placed in the grey envelopes at this stage - as you can see I mentioned ABOVE that I need to collect ALL project work on TUESDAY 15TH MARCH -.
